Year Round
ART AND WINE PAIRING AT THE ESTATE
Visit the winery and enjoy the work of talented local artists.
When you think of Michel-Schlumberger you think of wine, nature and beauty.  Once you pass through our gates you know Joyce Power's "Healdsburg Vineyard" at Michel-Schlumberger Wineryyou've entered a magical place.  Our organically farmed vineyards are nestled in the western hillsides of Dry Creek Valley allowing us spectacular views.  A reflecting pool graces our serene courtyard. A 300 year old oak tree spreads it's branches above our Spanish Mission Style Estate and our organic gardens.   Our guests love to walk the grounds and the hillsides taking in the natural beauty that surrounds them.   It's no surprise that we're now adding to that beauty with an Artist Series in our Estate Salon.   Our Tasting Salon will double as an art gallery with local artists paintings adorning the walls.

WORMS TO WINE
What in the world do organic vegetables, beehives, chickens, sheep and salmon have to do with growing grapes and making wine? Find out on this extremely exclusive and intimate tour of Michel-Schlumberger. Your guide will be Tony Wasowicz, Vineyard Biologist of the Estate. Tony’s 15 years of experience at the winery, from Cellar Master to Organic Farmer to Beekeeper and Chicken Wrangler, will help to give folks a genuine understanding of the entire process of growing grapes and making exceptional wine by working with Nature.

First, we’ll visit the beehives, organic veggie garden, chickens and sheep and talk about the interactions of these entities and their importance in creating a sustainable farming system. After that we’ll stroll the vineyards to see how these principles of environmental balance are applied to growing grapes. We’ll wander around beautiful Lake Schlumberger and check out the multitudes of fish, frogs, birds and bugs (and if we’re lucky maybe a fox or bobcat). We’ll take a break in the shade for a sip of wine right next to the vineyard that produced it. We’ll tour the Cellar and learn some of Winemaker Mike Brunson’s secrets to turning great grapes into world class wines. And we’ll finish the tour with an in-depth tasting of those wines. But wait – there’s more! We’ll send you home with a Michel-Schlumberger re-usable canvas tote bag filled with all sorts of fun, informative and delicious surprises.  This will not be a lecture and it will not be the least bit boring -- The goal for this tour is fun and informal. This tour is extremely limited in availability so please reserve space soon.
Cost per person - $45.00
Please wear comfortable hiking shoes.  Call 707-433-7427 to make your reservation.

We'll sample more of our wines other treats as Javier Sr. & our vineyard staff roast a pig (or two) to complement the wines.

As the story goes, Jacques Schlumberger always said that Michel-Schlumberger is a 'bordeaux house in a sea of Zinfandel' here in Dry Creek Valley, and that he'd make another Zinfandel 'when pigs fly'.  Well, as the label indicates, pigs are flying (!) -- at least for a handful of those lucky enough to get a hold of the few cases of Zinfandel we do handcraft.
