SPARKLING ROSE:

Varietal Composition:  80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay

The Vineyard:  The grapes used to make this Rosé sparkling wine are all from our estate vineyard at Michel-Schlumberger.

Vintage:  These grapes were picked in the 2018 vintage.  Moderate summer and fall temperatures allowed the grapes to retain bright fruit flavors.

Cooperage / Aging:  The cuvée was bottled with a dosage of special sparkling wine yeast and allowed to ferment in the bottle.  Aged for 14 months “on the yeast” in the bottle, the wine develops the classic rich texture and refined “sparkle” that comes from this “Methode Champenoise” technique.

Sensory Notes:

Color:  Pale strawberry

Aromas:  Delicate aromas of raspberry

Palate:  Round and creamy, with fresh berry flavors and well-balanced crispness.

2019 MOUNTAIN RANCH CHARDONNAY:

Varietal Composition:  100% Chardonnay

The Vineyard:  Our Mountain Ranch vineyard is at the very top of Bradford Mountain.  This vineyard’s volcanic red soils combine with the mountain-top micro-climate to yield especially elegant wines with richly structured fruit flavors.  The Dijon 76 clone of Chardonnay grown here brings a full complement of tropical, floral and mineral notes to the wine.

Cooperage / Aging:  The wine was aged for 11 months in French oak barrels (25% new).

Sensory Notes:

Color:  Pale straw

Aromas:  Apricot, pineapple, with floral and mineral notes

Palate:  Bright acidity, fresh apricot and lightly tropical flavors, creamy palate, long fruit finish

2018 LA BRUME CHARDONNAY:

Varietal Composition:  100% Chardonnay

The Vineyard:  Our estate vineyard lies in the western hillsides above the upper reach of the Dry Creek Valley.  Benchland and mountain-top soils combine with vigor-limiting rootstock and limited irrigation to yield intense fruit flavors from smaller berries.  A blend of clones (Robert Young 17, and Dijon 76) adds complexity and structure along with floral and mineral notes.

Fermentation:  The grapes were picked in the cool mornings and immediately pressed.  After settling, the clear juice was racked into French oak barrels and fermented at a cool temperature to retain fresh fruit flavors while gaining roundness during barrel fermentation.  100% malo-lactic fermentation.

Cooperage / Aging:  The wine was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels (25% new).

Sensory Notes:

Color:  Pale straw

Aromas:  Fresh apricot, green apple, floral with mineral and vanilla tones

Palate:  Bright acidity, fresh apricot and apple flavors, creamy palate, long fruit finish
